Those
applications that require changing field orientation in relation to the
experimental sample at very low temperatures may be a good candidate for a multi-axis system.
Standard mechanical sample positioning at mK range temperatures is difficult
at best and can introduce significant unwanted heat leak. In the MAxesTM
Systems a
solenoid produces the highest field while the split coil sets produce a lower
and typically symmetric lower field. Additional coils can be added for producing
low field regions, gradients or modulated fields. Multi-axis magnet systems are also useful for creating perfect alignment of the magnetic field with a thin film sample or lattice structure within a sample, the orientation of which may not be perfectly known. While electronically manipulating the magnetic field the sample parameters can be monitored for indications of peak alignment. Standard MAxesTM-2 and MAxesTM-3 multi-axis magnet systems are listed below. Non-standard magnet systems can be custom designed upon request. All magnets listed are rated for simultaneous coil operation to the limits shown. Higher fields may be available by special request. Cryogen free systems CF MAxesTM and Optical systems OptiMAxesTM are also available. |
