Gradient Coils

A gradient coil is an independently energized coil that creates a linear gradient in a relatively homogeneous magnetic field. These magnets are typically used in Faraday balance experiments or other applications where a field gradient is required.

A wide range of gradient field magnets are possible and your application should be discussed with an AMI Technical Sales Representative. You should be prepared to provide the following information:

Main Coil Field: ________ Tesla
Main Coil Homogeneity: ±_______ % in 1 cm DSV
Magnetic Gradient: ________ gauss/inch
Gradient Coil Homogeneity: ±_______ % in 1 cm DSV
Magnet Clear Bore: ________ inches
